The winners of Island BioBlitz 2016, with an incredible tally of 1,178 species is Bere Island!!! We don’t know how you managed it but that is a fantastic, and unexpected result. Well done to all the time, it is a remarkable achievement and has put Bere Island firmly on the biodiversity map. Inis Mór was a close second with another astonishing tally of 1,096 species. Cape Clear with 870 and Clare Island with 836 were very close on the day. Tory Island was only a bit behind, but has surprised everyone with a huge final tally of 710 species, recorded on the smallest of the five islands. So a huge thanks to everyone who participated on all the five islands, and hope everyone enjoyed the event.
